Musical Chairs & the Song of Death

One would be aware of the game of musicals chairs. Everyone has played the game. It has simple rules and one condition. The number of chairs is always less than the number of people, and of course, with time restriction. Who knew that this game would turn into bitter reality. Only the difference being, the chairs are replaced by beds, and the happiness and excitement are replaced by grief and helplessness. Time is an eternal constant. The winner of the game is presented with a gift, while in reality, the gift is replaced by the boon of life.

There is something else I can resonate with. The theory of evolution by Charles Darwin. Unless you’re a biologist, it’s unlikely for you all to know. ‘Survival of the fittest’, Or the ‘Natural Selection’. “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives, but the one who is more adaptable to change.” Comprehensively, it is the one that is more adaptable to change.

History repeats itself. Here in the 21st century, when we are hit by this atrocious pandemic, nature has again put us in an impasse. People with better survival skills, be it monetary or regarding connections win the race and further get delayed mortality. It would be appropriate to quote Otto Von Bismark, ‘It is the destiny of the weak to be devoured by the strong’.

However, it may not be the case now. This pandemic has activated itself to a pure slayer mode, with a simple motto, ‘Spare no one’. Indeed, people are dying without treatment or medical negligence, but some people are dying in hospitals, even after getting proper treatment, with complete guidelines. Who is to be blamed here? Doctors? Patients? Government? God? Or the VIRUS?

The god of death, Lord Yamraj is expanding his podium to perform the horrifying dance of death, and humans are grappling for the limited resources. The coronavirus is like Thanos (ironically, ‘Thanatos’ is the greek god for death.), has enormous superhuman strength, speed, stamina, immortality, invulnerability among other qualities, and most importantly, wants to eliminate half the population, at random and without prejudice.

Today when everything is shattered, healthcare services have collapsed, humanity is struggling for its existence, the atmosphere is brimming with anguish and grief. People are deprived of simple medical necessities, be it oxygen or medicines. Not to mention the sequelae of the pandemic, hunger, unemployment, etc.

This virus is so deadly, that it can mutate itself quickly, bypass the immune system, transmit through air, making it difficult to combat. So what is the solution for it? Only and only isolation. To step away from the domino stack to protect ourselves and our family. Staying at home and investing in self-development, the vaccine will do its role but you should play a responsible citizen’s role.

STAY HOME, STAY SAFE. DO SOMETHING TODAY THAT YOUR FUTURE SELF WILL THANK YOU FOR.
